How can I go to a specific filtered dashboard or specific page in the UI?

By |2019-08-03T06:30:17+00:00August 3rd, 2019|Knowledge Base|Comments Off on How can I go to a specific filtered dashboard or specific page in the UI?

You can create and bookmark deep links into CopperEgg. For example if you want to go to your Servers dashboard, and see only unhealthy servers, just go the the dashboard and filter on "unhealthy". You can save that filter. You can also copy the resulting URL for future use. Additionally, you can create a direct URL that does not contain the URL site key, such as this for the above example: http://app.copperegg.com#revealcloud/dashboard?f=unhealthy This is a great way to collaborate with other users and to enter the CopperEgg UI on any page.

Why do the detail graphs look different when looking at a week vs looking at an hour?

By |2019-08-03T06:27:49+00:00August 3rd, 2019|Knowledge Base|Comments Off on Why do the detail graphs look different when looking at a week vs looking at an hour?

The detail graphs are dynamic and will plot the data points differently.  If you are looking at a week graph, the data points that are shown are hourly metrics.  Each hourly data point is an aggregate average.  Typically, periods of higher performance will tend to be averaged to a lower number.   If you zoom into the graph, you will notice the frequency of data points will increase and the peaks and valleys become more pronounced.  (more highs and lows).  This is normal. Obviously, the most accurate data represented on the graphs is displayed at maximum zoom.   As a general practice, [...]

We have received many questions about what the Error Status Code alert is for.  This is a Website monitoring alert that is triggered based on http response code, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).  The way its written uses regular expressions. It is a very powerful alert that will alert you to any return status conditions of your website that are 400 or 500 errors.  One of the most obvious status errors in the 400-599 range is the 404, or page not found. For more on Regular Expressions or regexes, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression For more on http status codes, see: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html

What are the yellow shaded areas in my timeline graphs?

By |2019-08-03T06:18:44+00:00August 3rd, 2019|Knowledge Base|Comments Off on What are the yellow shaded areas in my timeline graphs?

CopperEgg will automatically record an alert in your timeline as an annotation. This is an option in any alert. The corresponding time of the alert will be shaded in a light yellow in your timeline graphs. If you click on the any particular annotation, the corresponding timeline will be highlighted in a darker yellow. This feature will help you better correlate alerts to time frames and easily see events in the past. To enable this feature, be sure the Auto-annotate option is checked for any alert.
